Smoke erupts from transformer at Burrabazar crossing, sparks panic
Police recovered approximately 100 crude bombs from a Trinamool Congress party office in the Domjur area of Howrah district during a raid conducted on the basis of specific information. The large-scale recovery of explosive materials triggered concern in the area and prompted immediate security measures by law enforcement authorities. Following the operation, police secured the location and initiated further investigation into the matter.
According to police sources, the explosives were discovered during a search operation carried out after receiving a tip-off. After the recovery, the entire area surrounding the party office was cordoned off to ensure public safety. A bomb disposal squad was subsequently called to the spot to handle the explosives and begin the process of defusing and disposing of the recovered crude bombs.
The incident has heightened political tensions in the region. Opposition parties have demanded a fair and impartial investigation into the recovery, while local Trinamool Congress leaders have denied the allegations linked to the incident.
